Creation Nature Devotional

faithspark-FS.png

Description

A sensory-based activity where kids go on a brief walk around the church grounds to collect objects that showcase God's creation. Once back inside, they group their items onto a collective display to talk about the care and design of the world.

Guidelines

  1. Briefing: Hand a paper bag to each child and explain that they are going on a "Creation Hunt" to find things made by God.

  2. The Walk: Lead the children outdoors onto the church grounds. Give them 5–10 minutes to safely pick up natural items like unique leaves, fallen twigs, pebbles, or pinecones.

  3. Sort and Categorize: Return to the classroom and clear a large table. Have the children sort their objects by type, color, or texture.

  4. Discussion: Lead a conversation about how God designed each specific element (e.g., "Why are leaves soft?" or "Why are rocks strong?").

  5. Closing: Have a quick prayer thanking God for creation, then allow the kids to take their bags of treasures home.

Materials

Small paper brown bags and a large tray or table.
