Moses and the Red Sea

Key Verse

Exodus 14:1-31 KJV

The story of Moses and the Red Sea is an epic account of divine deliverance where God rescues the Israelites from imminent destruction at the hands of the Egyptian army. After escaping generations of slavery in Egypt, the fleeing Israelites find themselves trapped against the shores of the Red Sea.

The people cry out, but God instructs Moses to raise his staff over the waters. The Israelites safely march across to freedom. But when the Egyptian forces confidently pursue them into the sea bed, God commands the waters to crash back into place, completely consuming Pharaoh's army.

Prayer

Dear God,

Thank you for the opportunity to gather and watch this story of your power and faithfulness. As we see how you led Moses and the Israelites across the Red Sea, remind us that you are always our deliverer.

Help us to trust you when we face our own difficult situations. Open our eyes and hearts to what you want to teach us today.

Amen.
